Artists, musicians, writers, poets, performers and other members of the creative community are invited to join the Arts and Humanities Commission at "Art Swoop", a mixer and participatory planning event for creative professionals in the Takoma Park area. Participants are asked to come prepared to discuss their role in their respective creative community and to contribute, in an informal setting, their ideas for special initiatives and programming to improve the cultural landscape of the area.
The event is designed to unify creative professionals in the Takoma Park area, to address findings within its cultural plan, and to inspire artists to get active within the community. With a casual atmosphere and a format based on Open Space technology, members of the Commission hope to encourage artists to come out with their creative minds sharpened and their ideas in hand.
