Serial isn't just for breakfast anymore
Tales of the District is the inspiration behind this blog: the Voice's first-ever endeavor to publish a locally-produced, serialized novel, brought to you courtesy of Rachel King of Takoma DC.
Evoking the style of Charles Dickens and Armistead Maupin, "Tales" is an amusing, fast-moving story of three characters manuevering through life in the nation's capitol in the post-September 11 political climate.
The story explores themes of terrorism, sexuality, vegetarianism, the Democratic party, and most importantly, what it means to be a family and live in community. Once you start reading it, you'll be hooked.
We'll be feeding your habit right here. Keep checking back for more chapters of the story.
