A University of MD journalism student who files stories for the Voice submitted this one today:

Gentrification in Takoma Park widens the gap

Curious what people in the region think of the characterization.

Did the author intend to elicit this comment as proof of his assertion that "Takoma Park prides itself on it's [sic] educated populace . . . ."?
It's an educated populace that knows its grammar.
Confusing the contractive with the possessive can provoke a clamor.
