Is she hurt?

"Artemis" is a baby bird that the I found at Lowell School. I got permission from the substitute teacher to take the bird home.

The fourth grade teacher, Kate tried to feed Artemis but she wouldn't eat the food. On the way home from school I was holding her and she got out of my hands!

Artemis hid in a hole above the gas pedal from three-thirty to seven-thirty!

Finally I found a feather and poked at it until she came out. We nursed the bird back to health and let it go.

Boring or fun?

Quilting bees are things that many people like and many people dislike. I personally think they are totally time-consuming and boring. I think you just sit down and you start poking cloth with a needle.

But my Mom thinks they are really fun and relaxing. Her point of view is that you sit close together and talk, sing and work together. What do you think?

Caution: fallen limb

On Tulip some of you have seen a big limb has fallen from Laurie Welch's yard. The limb fell around 8:30am and cracked as it crashed to the ground.

There was one lady who actually heard the branch fall and tear down a power-line on the way. She said, "I heard it fall and not knowing what it was, went down to investigate."

Pepco and the City were there. Pepco fixed the power-line. The tree was moved out of the road.

Visitors!

The visitors are new to some and familiar to others. They are the noisy cicadas! Once I found one that hummed in my hand. Mom thought it was totally cool.

The Males are the only ones that hum but the Females have a noise of their own. Can you find a hummer?
