Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce seeks
nominations for its 2004 business and community awards
The Greater Silver Spring
Chamber of Commerce (GSSCC) is seeking nominations from the
community for its 2004 Silver Spring Business & Community
Awards. The awards, sponsored by GSSCC, are held annually
to recognize Silver Spring businesses and citizens who have
made outstanding contributions to the community during the
past year.
Members of the community are encouraged to submit nominations
for eight business and citizen award categories.
Business recognitions will include the following categories:
Business Beautification, Business Excellence, Small Business
of the Year, and the Arts Enterprise Award.
Individual recognitions will include the Silver Spring Guardian
Award, Educator of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year and
Volunteer of the Year.
Nominations must be received by GSSCC no later than Friday,
March 12, 2004 to be considered. Nomination forms may be had
by calling GSSCC at 301/565-3777. Nominations may be mailed,
delivered or faxed to the Chamber at 301/565-3377 until 5
p.m. on March 12.
The award winners will be recognized at GSSCC’s annual
Business & Community Awards Dinner, which will be held
on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Hilton Silver Spring, located
at 8727 Colesville Road in downtown Silver Spring.
The event will include a silent auction and reception, dinner,
the awards program and dancing. The silent auction will be
held during the reception and dinner, and will benefit the
Chamber’s ongoing programs. Advance registration is required,
and the community is welcome and encouraged to attend.
