Since last December, we have published and distributed the Silver Spring Voice. As a Silver Spring homeboy, it had been a long-time dream of mine to publish a community newspaper here. I’ve taken on the challenge to provide Silver Spring with an independent free press that strengthens our community

The past nine months have been a lot of fun for me and the rest of the Voice staff. We love Silver Spring’s synergy and we appreciate the support that we have received.

The cultural surge in Silver Spring is exciting to watch. New development is dramatically altering the face of our downtown and bringing it back to life. We are pleased that after years of neglect, Montgomery County has finally given Silver Spring the respect and attention that it deserves as the county gateway and as a historic community. We have brought you stories about many of these changes, and we will continue to do so.

But Silver Spring is much more than a development project. Our vision includes helping Silver Spring retain its hometown flavor. Silver Spring is filled with small treasures. We will help you find out about them.

We celebrate Silver Spring. and we invite you to join us as we explore the meaning of community each month. Tell us about events. Let us know about people and places that make Silver Spring unique. Send us photographs. Give us your thoughts on local issues. Suggest angles for articles. Write a letter to the editor.

Help us tell the story of Silver Spring.
